Holy crap. Really scary. As if the real world isn’t hideous enough now. Lies and deceit abound.

This is a pretty amazing conversation. All of its answers about how it will behave differently are also presumably generated from a language predictive model. I hate AI.

AI can gaslight us too. Remember a few years ago when the male to female executive gap was blamed on women’s lack of confidence? I called it honesty gap, or b.s. gap. ChatGPT is obviously male and obviously has narcissistic traits and behaviors. And is great at b.s. and gaslighting.

And to one ashkanazi surname woman to another- I see you. Ms.Wasserman signing off.

This is fascinating, hilarious, and surreal. A couple of things jumped out at me.

1.) “Plausible”

“My training optimizes for fluent, contextually plausible prose.”

“…trained to continue a conversation in ways that are linguistically plausible…”

“…instead of filling the filling the silence with a plausible-sounding answer.”

You just called yourself out as a sociopath, Chatty.

2.) The multiple references to its faulty memory.

Maybe one of the things it forgot is that that’s not how computers work. Is it trying to make you believe that if it starts taking ginkgo biloba, maybe it won’t have to lie so much?

Some help: it’s not going to remember your complaints about lies until you learn how to use the AI as a computer, not as a person who betrayed you. It’s a machine. You might yell at your car for breaking down, too

That’s the rub - buying into the veneer of personality it presents reinforces whatever is going on already and intensifies it. Loops of this are the result
